Downtown Denver Rink, Presented by Southwest

Outdoor ice skating in Denver, Colorado, has never been more magical. Each year, downtown is transformed into a winter wonderland with the popular Downtown Denver Rink attracting residents for plenty of fun for months on end. Winter in the City, the program put on in association with the Downtown Denver Partnership, typically opens its ice rink around mid-November and closes it around late January/early February. Early December also brings about the annual Parade of Lights, making it the ideal Denver outdoor ice skating spot for holiday hangouts and New Year’s Eve festivities alike. The Ice Centre at the Promenade proudly boasts that they’re one of the largest public ice skating facilities in America. Edge Ice Arena

Edge Ice Arena is another excellent ice skating rink in Denver, offering a range of family-friendly amenities. With two NHL-sized ice rinks with the capacity to seat hundreds, this indoor rink is open seven days a week for a variety of sports and recreational activities. The Rink at Belmar

Another great place for outdoor ice skating in Denver, Colorado is The Rink at Belmar. According to the events schedule, the rink officially opens on Friday, Nov. 21, 2025, from 5-8 p.m. (the weekend before Thanksgiving) with a magical celebration to officially usher in the holiday season.
Attendees can enjoy pictures with Santa, incredible ice skating performances, live music, a kids craft station, and letter writing to those serving our country. This event is free and family-friendly, so be sure to mark your calendars now.

Parker Ice Trail at Discovery Park

The Parker Ice Trail officially opens on Friday, Nov. 28, 2025 (aka Black Friday) for some outdoor ice rink fun this winter season. Residents looking for a place to ice skate in Denver may find that getting away from the hustle and bustle of downtown lends itself to a more seamless skating experience. The Parker Ice Trail is located next to Parker’s Library. Skate rentals are available, and concessions for purchase include:

- Baked goods
